New Study Places Caesars Superdome Among NFL’s Most Traffic-Heavy Stadiums
NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (LAAN 54) — New Orleans football fans may want to plan ahead when heading to a Saints game. New research ranks the traffic around Caesars Superdome among the NFL’s more congested stadium environments.
The study by Betpack gave the Superdome a Traffic Score of 65.8, placing it ninth among 32 NFL stadiums.
Researchers examined traffic within a one-kilometer radius of each venue, using TomTom Move data to measure congestion, average vehicle speeds and the time needed to travel 10 kilometers.
The study recorded congestion of 134.8% around the Superdome. Average speeds were 10.1 mph, and a 10-kilometer journey took 36.7 minutes.
Nissan Stadium in Nashville ranked first with a score of 95.8. Soldier Field in Chicago ranked second in the study’s table.
The findings highlight how game-day travel can become a significant part of the stadium experience, particularly when thousands of fans converge on the same area.
Betpack calculated its overall scores by weighting congestion at 40%, with average speed and travel time each accounting for 30%. Higher scores represent worse traffic conditions.
The analysis used data from each team’s final home game of the 2025 regular season. For the London venues, researchers used traffic data from the previous season’s NFL games.
For Saints fans, allowing extra time to reach the Superdome may be a practical way to reduce the stress of game day.
