NOLA Funk Fest Brings Three Days Of Louisiana Music And Culture To New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (LAAN 54) — New Orleans will celebrate Louisiana’s musical heritage October 16–18 as NOLA Funk Fest takes over Riverfront Park near the Audubon Aquarium.

The three-day festival features funk, soul, brass-band music and other sounds rooted in the region’s musical traditions. The event also includes food, arts and cultural activities, giving attendees more than a concert experience.

Organizers describe the festival as part of a broader effort to support the Louisiana Music and Heritage Experience, a planned museum project focused on preserving and sharing the state’s musical history.

The festival’s lineup includes Louisiana-connected performers and tribute sets celebrating influential musicians. Activities are planned across multiple stages and themed areas, with programming highlighting music, foodways and cultural traditions.

For New Orleans, the weekend adds another major cultural event to the fall calendar while bringing attention to the city’s role in shaping American music.

Residents and visitors should check the festival’s official schedule for performance times, ticket information, entry rules and transportation planning before attending.
